Vent – Break The Silence ep
Oct 30th

VENT – Encoded / Gash – Hardcore Beats (HB031)
VENT – Silicon Age (Ep) – Colony Productions (COL:011.12)
Ed Chamerblin – Dave – Vent Remix – Baselogic (BASE005)
Afghan Headspin – Bang Spanner (VENT Rmx) – Valium (VAL001)
VENT – Silicon Age Remix Pt1(Ep) (Afghan Headspin/VENT VIP) – Colony Productions (COL:012.DIGI)
VENT – Silicon Age Remix Pt2(Ep) (Si Begg/Cursor Miner) – Colony Productions (COL:013.DIGI)
VENT – Turn the Page/Go Gorrila – Valium (VAL002)

Stanton Warriors Sessions vol.3
Oct 28th

Stanton Warriors – oct. 1hr. promo mix Download
Congratulations on another stellar compilation with Stanton Sessions 3! Talk us through the thinking behind the album.
These are the tunes that have basically been making our parties all year. It’s basically a round-up of all the tracks we’ve been playing out and a way to get our remixes and re-edits out there sneakily without having too worry to much about the copyright issues!
You’ve been running nights at Fabric for 8 years now, what keeps you there and would you change anything about the club?
It’s the soundsystem, soundsystems are very important to us and Fabric’s is amazing. There’s not much I’d change about it but maybe an outdoor terrace, with music. But basically it’s a great testament to how clubs should be, it’s all about promoting good, underground music.
If you were running the Stanton Warriors Academy for young, up and coming producers, what advice would you give them to keep things moving forward in the next few years?
First up, make stuff that sounds original I guess. Try to originate, not duplicate, and do shit your own way. There’s a lot of shit music out there, especially breaks. We try to steer away from being called breakbeat artists because it’s seen as a bit of a dirty word. We’ve just come back from a sell-out US tour and out there, people were calling us “disco bass.” I’m happy to have that label, just cos it’s different and it keeps us away from people just calling us “breaks.” Most breaks is shit to be honest.
So what do you make of music blogs? Are they stealing music or spreading music?
I spend a lot of time on blogs and I certainly have used tracks in my set which I could only have got from music blogs. But it’s not great when our album is already being downloaded weeks before it’s release from blogs. That’s a bit cruel. What people need to understand is that, if all music was free, there would be no more new music. We’re lucky enough be able to DJ as well and make money from that, but if producers aren’t playing out too, there’s just not enough money in releasing your own tracks. I think labels and blogs definitely need to find ways to work together.
So what’s on your plate at the moment other than the album release?
Well we’ve got so many bookings, just got back from America, got the Fabric launch party on Friday and then a second launch party on Saturday in Bristol, then off to Dubai. It’s crazy, always crazy!
You’re famous as remixers, have there been any tracks you’ve tried and failed to remix?
Normally we can tell whether it’s gonna work or not, so not really. But we’ve turned down a lot of tracks though.
From who?
Well, people like Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, All Saints. You can’t polish a turd can you? If they had any sort of underground credibility we might think about it. We turned down a shitload of money for it too.
3 Producers to watch out for?
Deekline for his Baltimore, booty stuff. AC Slate for that hipster house sound, and then Bassbin Twins for what I can only describe as “techno, hip-hop, step!”
Let’s talk festivals, what have been your favourite?
All time favourite has to be Exit, we played the main stage on the first night as the sun was coming up, to a big, big crowd. It was great just for the sheer magnitude of it. Bestival was good this year, although shitloads of mud. And Glasto we played outdoors again so that was pretty fun. Also Burning Man in the USA was pretty insane.
Brokerz – After Midnight Break – Live@Home
Oct 25th
Enjoy.

NAPT are takein over Breakz
Oct 24th
Got to have more cowbell, NAPT
Specimen A – ‘Hazardous Material’
Oct 23rd
‘Breakbeat, house or electro..’
Plump DJs: - ”Wicked fat dubsteppy bass line”
NAPT: – ”Algorithm is rude. Specimen A will be huge”
JMekka: – “Another level of breaks, the best work from Spec A to date without question”
Beat Assassins: – “Total banger”
Out on vinyl:
A: Algorithm
Out on digital only:
